Swift needed to help Suliya. There was no way she could leave her in there, but The Terror was sure to capture her. She flattened her wolf's ears and took a breath. She was at the edge of the Middle Realm, the undulating barrier casting an eerie glow in front of her.
Hissssss.
As if a giant claw scraped the earth, a few inches of grass beside the barrier withered and faded, burning black and a sick dark green.
"It's spreading," she whispered.
