Jade blinked and looked to him at that last part then dipped her head in a single nod. Oh, she very much wanted out of here. "Ara was starting to train me to do more than grow food, but she kept saying I am chaotic and have to focus better."
Elliot responded "Yes, what do you want to do at home? Watch TV?"
Luka looked at her, staring her dead in the eyes, asking softly "Are you sure you want to leave? It'll be hard, and I need to make sure you trust me. I trust you because I see your sincerity."
Tamara reached her hand to stroke his cheek. "Whatever you want to do." she smiled.
Elliot responded softly, looking down at her with a loving gaze, "I just want to spend time with you." He looked up at the city as they neared their apartment.
Jade sniffed then nodded and looked back to him "The forest is all I know for certain. Everything else is too confusing, too scary. I was scared enough just to come to the city with Ara, but she convinced me to come with her because she preferred the city over the forest."
"I don't know what I would do if the government caught one of us." Tamara whispered so no-one else would hear. "Since we're spies we would have a much harsher punishment."
Luka pondered for a minute, deciding that he wanted her for himself and no one else, especially not Lincoln or Lyla. He replied softly "Jade, you were safer near the woods. Ara was being selfish. It is a lot more dangerous to live in the city." He paused, thinking about how he could tie it in to relate to himself. He decided to make it personal. He told her softly, in his chilly and luring voice, "I'm the only one here who cares about you. Everyone else doesn't." He stopped there, letting her ask more questions, ready to answer.
