Hmmm... You might want to check into the law a bit more. Some animals are excluded from being allowed as pets. e.g. You probably can't have a pet cow.

I read the ordinances in my area, with 2.5 acres, I'm ok to raise chickens (as many as I want!), but not ok to raise larger animals, like sheep, goats, pigs, cows, etc., which require at least 3 acres (and then you're allowed 1 animal per acre).
