Dasha narrowed her eyes in concentration, and a narrow thread of light appeared. It floated down and wrapped itself around Shade's wings and feet without touching her. It floated in the air, looking like a thin golden wire.

Being near the orb gave Kristina new strength, and she lifted herself off of Autumn's back. "Once you're done with that, give that to me," she said to Dasha.

"Will do," Dasha said. "Now lets get out of here!"

Sheila lifted Faedon onto her back, turning to look at Autumn.

"Do you need help?" Autumn asked Kristina, flexing her tawny wings.

"No," Kristina said indignantly, extending her wings and flying beside Sheila and Haylei.
