Dasha, Shadow, and Alana flashed past him, then stopped and turned. Each of them easily dwarfed Rocky.

"Are you guys Shadow, Dasha and Alana?" Rocky asked them.

"Aren't these the animals we were looking for?" Calliope asked.

"I think so," Rocky whispered to her.

"Now what?" Attollo asked.

 

[OwlLover]

"No idea," Rocky replied. Kate's pups began stumbling around, their eyes were going to open soon. Normally an arctic fox's eyes wouldn't open for another 4 months, but in Rainea pups grew much faster than usual. Kate's pups would be full grown in 2 months. Kate smiled at them.

Rocky nodded, "you got Nakota's message about a week ago?"

"Yes," Alana said.
Shadow stiffened. "Alana, it's back," she said, staring at Kate. Alana bristled and flexed her talons, her ears flat. Dasha and Shadow unsheathed their claws. The air grew cold and frost started to form on the grass.

"Yes," Alana said.
Shadow stiffened. "Alana, it's back," she said, staring at Kate.

Rocky also stiffened. "Leave her alone," he warned, "she's not dark now. Plus, she has pups."

"So you say," Dasha said. "That does not necessarily mean that it's true."
