Chapter Seventy One

"How are you ever going to get there?" Sky asked me, surprised.
"I have no idea," I replied.
"Maybe I can help"
"How would you do that?" I squawked at him.
"Um, I don't know," He replied
"Exactly."
I thought of the chicks I have killed and how I deserved to die.
"Just leave me here!" I suddenly screamed.
Sky jumped, "Apple..."
"Just go!"
"...Why?"
"I deserve to die," I muttered.
"No you don't!"
"Think of all the chicks I've killed!"
"And we can't do anything about it," Sky tried to reason, "But I can do something about you."
I sighed.
Sky began to preen me. I tried to preen him too, but I couldn't.
I began to close my eyes when he got to about my neck.
I was surprised. It seemed like he liked me more than Leaf.
I wonder if Leaf noticed.
"We'll find a way," Sky whispered.
