When it began to get dark, we all went back to the aviary.
I flew over to the feeder, ate a couple of seeds, and flew to Aqua's nest box.
"So how was it?" She asked me as soon as she saw me.
"It was great! I can't wait for you to join us!" I replied.
"I can't wait either. This stuff gets boring."
"It does," I agreed.
We just sat there for a few seconds.
"Well then I'll see you tomorrow," I said, leaving.
"See you," Aqua replied.
I hopped out of the box, and flew to a perch.
Clouds landed next to me.
"Whacha doing?" He chirped.
"Nothing. You?" I asked.
"Not much."
"Wanna preen?"
"Sure."
We preened each other for a couple of minutes, then fell asleep.
I woke up suddenly in the middle of the night to a strange, and rather scary, sound.
It came again, slightly muffled.
It stopped.
I fluffed my feathers in fear.
A shadow flew in front of the moon, outlined in silver, to disappear moments later.
I shrieked as something landed on our aviary with a crash.
