I soared around happily for a few minutes, then, when I felt someone staring at me, I realized how stupid I looked.
I settled down on a branch, and looked around for whoever might have been staring at me.
I saw no one. I looked up.
It was the hawk.
I was half relieved that no bird was going to think I'm stupid, though.
But I was mad at this hawk. It was the same one, I know it!
And to think I was happy she had a happy ending by not running into the window.
I hid the best I could, praying that I had lost her.
She swooped down.
Apparently I haven't! But that wasn't important. I looked around frantically for a hole of some kind where the hawk couldn't get me.
But no matter what, I wasn't going back to the girl.
The hawk landed on a branch right next to me. Holes won't help now.
I thought about what I could do.
The hawk stared me in the eye.
"No!" I yelled.
She edged closer to me, her giant beak and shining talons frightening me more than I've ever been.
"Please don't eat me!" I wasn't sure if hawks understand me, but it was probably my last chance.
"And why shouldn't I?" She challenged. I guess they do.
"Can't you eat a mouse or something?" I pleaded.
She clacked her beak and looked at me with giant eyes.
"I suppose I like birds more," She paused to glare at me, "Especially if they make themselves known like you do. Makes an easy meal."
I panicked, and because of it, acted very stupidly.
I flew towards Sky and Leaf's nest.
