Chapter Sixty Eight

"You're not getting away this time!" Her voice screamed in my ear.
I flew as fast as I can until I got to Sky and Leaf's tree.
I dove behind it as fast as I can.
"Apple?" Sky hopped back to look at me, "What are you doing? I thought you went back to your aviary a couple of days ago!"
"Hide!" I whispered.
Then I remembered the chicks.
"Oh no!" I screeched at him, "I am so sorry!!!"
"You're not making any sense."
The hawk was approaching.
I closed my eyes, I can't look!
Hearing terrible shrieking from Leaf, I figured it was the end of the chicks.
Managing to open my eyes, I looked at Leaf in the nest hole.
"How could you?" She screamed at me.
"I..."
"Go!!!" She demanded, "Go, and don't come back!"
I had nothing to say. I flew off.
"Apple, wait!" I heard Sky calling after me.
I ignored him.
I saw the hawk again, circling. I didn't even care.
I couldn't believe what I've done.
First, I killed one of Aqua's chicks, and now I've killed five more!
The hawk can come and get me. I deserve to die.
