I landed on a branch, and the hawk followed.
"That was tasty" She said with a sinister glint in her eye.
"What do you want now?" I demanded.
"You."
"Not happening."
"Oh yeah?" She challenged, and swooped at me.
I took off, dodging her, then lifted myself up to the sky.
She followed, and dove for me.
I waited for the last second, and then tilted my wings, floating away while the hawk fanned her wings out in a desperate attempt to stop herself.
I flew as fast as I can in the direction of the wind.
It lifted me, swishing over my outstretched wings.
Despite running from the hawk, I was at peace.
I woke up from my daydreaming.
The hawk was catching up at an alarming rate.
Uh oh.
I flapped as hard as I could, trying to gain speed, but the hawk was quicker.
With one swoop of her talons, she caught me in midair.
"That'll teach you to talk back to a hawk," She screeched at me triumphantly.
I squirmed in her powerful grip. I couldn't get out.
I felt my wings bleed where her claws dug into my skin.
I was choking. Her grip was so tight.
I gave one last struggle.
Was I going to die?
