Chapter Seventy Three

"Apple, what do you mean?" He chirped to me after an awkward while.
"Well..." I stuttered.
"She's my mate."
I wasn't sure what to say.
Sky just stared at me waiting for my response so he can prove me wrong.
"You don't seem to like her very much," I blurted out.
"Apple!" Sky turned and flew away.
"Wait!" I called, "Sky! Don't go! I can explain!"
But Sky just kept flying. I'm not sure if he even heard me.
And all this because of my stupid big mouth!
I went in the direction of Leaf's tree, only hoping Sky hadn't gone there as well. I had to go before Sky got there!
Every part of me hurt so much, but I didn't care. I ruined everything for Sky and Leaf. I had to do something good.
Suddenly, I stopped in my tracks. What was I thinking? If I go back, I would only make more trouble.
Reluctantly, I turned around towards the aviary.
Goodbye, Sky I thought, Goodbye Leaf. Sorry for everything.
Then I remembered something.
The hawk!
She would probably still be looking for me.
I shook my head. That didn't matter. I sort of wanted to die anyways.
My head was screaming, my throat was being weird, and if a budgie could cry, I would have.
Goodbye. Maybe I'll come back someday.
