The Lonely Hen --This is one of my chicken stories--

enjoyin' my chickens :

This just keeps getting better and better every chapter. This is so good I have my DW and DS listening to me read it to them and wondering when the next chapter will come. Now that is what I call a well written story.
Waiting for the next chapter.

Sweet! And thanks! I think I will write another chapter now!

Chapter 24

Day 13 was super hot. I was panting a lot. At least there still was a lot of water in the tiny holes on the ground. Since it was really hot I decided to run around and eat plus drink for a bit. I went into the clearing and ran around it a couple times and ate some grass and bugs. Grasshoppers and beetles never tasted so good! The water was warm but delicious too.
I continued to eat and drink when I heard a flapping noise above. I looked up. Nothing. Oh gosh it better not be a hawk or something. The sun was blazing so I couldn't look for long. There was the noise again. I looked up and saw a bird flying around. What was it? It flew down closer. It was a hawk! I became terrified! I ran under my tree so it couldn't see me. I kept hearing the flapping noise above me.
"Go away hawk!" I whispered to myslef.
I looked up at my soon to be (hopefully) Little Miracles. They were safe and sure enough the hawk couldn't see them.
The hawk kept circling around the sky above me. It didn't stop doing that for about a half an hour. When it finally went away I went back out to the clearing to eat a bit more. I hope it won't come back. Wow... I hope a lot!
When I got to the base of my tree I heard the flapping sound again.
"Just go away, hawk!" I panted.
I jumped up to the first branch and sat there till it went away. It probably won't go away till it finds what it's looking for. Great. Just what I needed. I peered out to the sky. Sure enough the hawk was circling again. It came down lower to the trees. I jumped up another branch. This hawk is really bugging me!
"Go away." I said under my clenched beak.
I hopped all the way to my babies and sat on them. The flapping was still going on. Big disapointment....
I was getting a bit sleepy but I didn't want to fall asleep till it went away.
My eyes were fluttering and the flapping still went on.
"Please... hawk... just... go away." I said sleepy.
Suddenly I couldn't take it anymore. My eyes shut.

You did it again. Broke the story at the most suspenseful place that you could have. Well I guess that I will have to wait patiently for the next chapter, while my DW kicks, screams, hollers, cries for more Hannah.
