Chapter 28

I heard something scratching on the bark of my tree. I awoke. I peered down and the rat was there! He was scratcing the tree! Time to get out my sharp nails! I flew all the way down, landing on the soft green grass perfectly. I turned around to look at him. Man was he disgusting! He sneered and came at me. I flew up and landed on him. But he flipped me over and I landed on my back. Tough little vormit. I got up quickly and flew up again and landed on him, this time digging my claws into him right away. He wimpered and skitted off. I knew he might be coming back.
I flew back up to my babies. There better not be any more predators that I have to get at again for a while.
It was getting nearly night time so I decided to fall asleep.

Where was I? I looked all around. I was back at the coop but no one was around.
"Hello?" I yelled. "Anyone there?"
I looked everywhere. Ethel and Pepper!
"Ethel! Pepper! I'm here!" I screamed.
I ran as fast as I could to them. When I got there they looked at me funny.
"It's me, Hannah!" I yelped.
"Ew!" Ethel said. "Why would we care about you!? You're disgusting. Get away!"
That took me aback. "What?" I asked. "What are you talking about? Why are you saying that stuff? Ethel... me and you have been friends for a long time!"
"Ya well we have better friends!" Pepper sneered.
Then they walked over to Tal and Ally. What? Why were they friends with those mean girls!?
"But... Pepper! Ethel!" I shouted.
They started to laugh together when all 4 of them trotted off.
I started to cry. I then walked over to some trees and just cried my heart out! I felt so alone! I had nobody anymore....
