Chapter 21
2 days later.
I have my two Little Miracles now. I'm warming the eggs 24/7. I only get down when it's really hot out, but I only stay off for 5 minutes, no more than that.
Today was a pretty hot day and I was getting a little hungry. I jumped down into the clearing to catch some yummy bugs. All I got was 2 beetles and 3 dragonflies. Hopefully that will hold me off for a bit. I looked around for puddles, after all it did rain a day ago. I found one and drank from it.
When I was all done with that I went back up to my nest and sat on my Little Miracles. I wonder what gender they'll be. A girl and boy? Two boys? Or two girls? Hmmm....
Some sound ruined my train of thoughts.... It sounded like a half growl and half wimper. Then there was a rustling in the bushes. I looked around. I didn't see anything. Was there two things fighting each other?
All the sudden I see a small black bear and a fox wrestling. The bear was winning, obvouisly. He was the stronger one. I lowered myself closer to the nest so I won't be seen. I hope they keep fighting off into other bushes. They stopped and I froze in my place. They weren't looking at me, they were looking east. What were they looking at? Did they hear something? I tried looking the way they were and I saw nothing. I looked back at them, but they were gone. Did something scare them off?
I got a little frantic. I hope they won't find me.... I look around and nothing is there. I calm down a little.
"Don't worry my Little Miracles, Mommy will protect you."
I looked around one more time and relaxed. I sighed and closed my eyes for a little nap.
