Chapter 49
I woke. Birds singing, the trees swaying, the sun shining, it was a nice out.
I looked under my wings. Lilly and Rose were gone! I started to panic! Where are they!?
I jumped down, almost tumbling. I rushed out of the coop, skipping breakfeast. I looked around. Emma!
"Emma!" I shouted to get her attention, "Emma! Emma! Have you've seen Lilly and Rose anywhere?"
"Noo.... Maybe they are with Pepper!"
I nodded and skidded away to find Pepper. Pepper was dust bathing.
"Pepper! Do you know where Lilly and Rose are?"
She shook her head and stood up. "No I don't... did the girl take them?"
Without answering her I rushed over to find Jaz and his crew. I waved to him. "Jaz! Have you've seen Lilly and Rose anywhere!?"
"Nope. Wonder if they could be off with their father." He grinned. I tried to smile back.
"Where's Matt?"
"Last I saw him he was over by that big pine tree." He pointed to a pine tree close to the woods. "And that was about two hours ago." He walked away and I started to get frantic.
I zoomed over by the pine trees-no Matt.
Then I looked over my shoulder and saw Lilly, Mattie, then Rose all lined up just coming out from the woods.
My face lit up. "Lilly, Rose!" I rushed over to them and they hugged me.
Then Matt spoke, "I saw the girl come down and I knew she would take Lilly and Rose, so I rushed right over to take them away and hide them till she left."
"I would have heard her though." I told him. He shrugged. Maybe I was just that tired.
We all walked back to the coop for us to all eat and Emma joined us.
