🐝💗Our Backyard Beekeeping Journey!💗🐝

We're having a club Christmas party next week. With a bee related gift exchange if you want to participate. I bought a queen clip and hive tool. I also wanted to gift something unique. I found this file for a 3D printed lantern. My son has several printers and does a lot of 3D printing and I've done a little. It has 3 different designs on it. I also bought a candle with a timer on it.

I'm also bringing small bottles of buckwheat honey to share. Evidently they don't grow buckwheat in their area. Everyone wants to try it. I'm fine with that. It's still not my favorite...lol

I chose a gold & silver filament.

We really like ours. One thing we did was to use food grade silicone where the shaft sits inside the canister. You probably already know that, but just in case you didn't. I hope yours does a good job for you!
DW's sister has Blueberries and Cranberries and get food grade grease for harvest machinery by the case, so I'm pretty much set. Have a small Tupper Ware tub with more than I'll ever use.

I figured you knew about it. 😊

Today is an easy relaxing day as I will be putting all my milled pieces-parts for a spring hive together, bottom board, 2 deeps, 2 med, inner cover and telescoping top. I'll pick up unassembled frames and foundation end of February beginning of March. Prep for another Spring split, hopefully. Early cold this yr, hope it's not an omen.

We could see single digits overnight next week. I can't recall that happening in December before. I am VERY glad we put 2" foam insulation around and over the hive.
It was 8°F 10 minutes before midnight, 9°F at midnight and is currently 25°F.
