"Playing?!?! IN THE MIDDLE OF THIS?! Not to mention it's nighttime, the snow just makes it look bright!" Web said angrily. "Wait- not-chicks?"
Rain struggled through the snow, trying to tell which direction camp was in.
“I mean, yeah…but you never let me play.” He said.
“Um, yeah. Not-chicks. They’re not chicks.” He looked over at the tail sticking out from under Fang.
"Keets, then?" Web said, confused. "Fang, I think you're sleeping on a worm..."
"No, they're nosey and furry. And they squeak alot." Smoke ruffled his feathers.
Rain collapsed in the snow, wheezing. Her throat felt like icy sandpaper and she couldn't feel her feet.
Leech sat up suddenly. "Rain!" Web shrieked in surprise. Fang shook her head. "Not now, Leech." Ginger sat up. "No! I smell Rain! We have to go out!"
Smoke pointed at the rats with his beak. "See, Mom?"
Rain was numb all over. She felt the snow build up around her. Her breathing was slow and rattly as her body tried to keep her alive.
