Back when I got 16 baby chicks from Meyer Hatchery I stopped at the local TSC to pick up supplies. They still had baby chicks left so I thought, hmmm maybe just 6 more. All they had left were the unsorted chicks so I got 6 of those. Roughly 5 months later guess what I have?

6 roosters! What are the odds of that!

All the chicks were raised together but now that they are bigger they started fighting each other and overworking the hens. So I chased them all down and threw them out of the run. Now I've got 6 free range roosters roaming the yard. They've learned (like all my chickens) that when they see me that means food. I'm not afraid of my chickens but there is something quite intimidating seeing 6 big ole roosters running up to you when you go outside or get out of your car. Like a pack of Velociraptors.

5 wild roosters. 1 of them has jumped back in the coop! Gotta chase him out again.

I'm keeping 1 rooster in with the chicks, the RIR

And I've got 1 in with the other chicks. Not sure what kind he is though. We got him from the neighbor that said he had some game roster in him.

And then the coops/runs. 1 for the older chicks, 1 for the new ones. Eventually I'd like to put them all together but I don't think that will happen.

I added some photos to the OP.

One of the rouge roosters jumped back in the run it seems. I need to get some netting!

You can easily integrate your 2 current flocks and then you’ll have an open coop, but ultimately the decision is up to you.
That was the original plan. I've got some work to do on the newer coop/run (the red one) still. When it's finished I might try to integrate them.

But let's be honest.. is a coop or run ever FINISHED? We are always looking for new toys or ideas.

Um... I finished my coop with attached run and was happy with it.:idunno True I’m always looking for new ideas and such, but I’m not going to redo my coop and run if I find a great idea. I’ll just save the idea for my next coop or run.
