The making of Quacker Shack.- Bio-Filter is unplanted and the pond is drained. /sigh

Looks great!!!!!!!!!!! How exciting to see it filling up with water (despite the best efforts of your assistant).

Is the biofilter filled with dirt? See how that goes - normally it is gravel. But give the dirt a try.

Pretty funny that there is a sudden eBay rush on water hyacinth, LOL.

It's clay. When dried out it looks just like dirt but when wet it's more of a grayish color.

It isn't good actually. The pond didn't hold water. The cement pond that is. I've no idea what went wrong there. It's at least 2 inches of cement. I've no idea what I'm going to do now.

I am so glad I found this thread, so entertaining! I'm sorry your pond didn't hold water! I just finished my little pond, it is an old pond liner that had a small usable piece left. It is built in our "seasonal creek"=drainage ditch. No filter or anything, but I only have 2 little Australian Spotted Ducks,( and a few gold-fish) so I can overflow it and/or bail it out if it gets too bad.

It looks beautiful!
