Reelfoot Lake is actually in NW TN but yes the lake has alot of snakes.. Cottonmouths get their "name" from the Cotton white color appearance of the inside of their mouths when they open up.

water moccasin, swamp moccasin or black moccasin; also cottonmouth, gapper, or simply viper
All the same snake just depends on where you live and what the locals call them.
Like Crawdad, Crawfish and Mudbugs. All the same critter.

As for the diamondback water snake. They do have fangs but they are fixed and solid. Unlike the vipers that fold under and are hollow. The water snake uses his teeth to chew and draw the prey down his throat.

Well my bantam hen rejected the third egg I found it on the other side of the brooder cold as can be. But I do have two new bantam chicks that are up and moving. I got to watch momma bird show them how to drink water today it was pretty cool. I am gonna work on my 12 by 12 run this week and getting that set up for the new bantams I have. The misses and I were thinking of ordering more bantam chicks from efowl. Reviews seem so so but free shipping seems great. I can't wait to get a incubator and start hatching eggs. I am gonna start making runs out of PVC 20x20 I don't know what I like better making coops or raising the chickens lol.

I ordered my last chicks for efowl.. all they do is go to the hatchery that is closest to you. Ours would be Cackle and it you compare prices you would be better off to order direct from them and get them sooner. :)

I am sitting here trying not to open my bator (it's on lockdown, due to hatch tomorrow) always get nervous around this time, like the chick doesn't know how to get out of egg.. LOL.. can't wait until my hen starts brooding and I won't have this stress..

just got home from Becky's.....might have to do that again yummy! If I could I would put the picture of Kenneth with his peacock feathers he played with them all the way home.

Becky I stopped at the farm and put the eggs in the bator! I know I will be tossing some of mine. I gave a roo away about the time I decided I wanted to hatch from him and my partridge roo dropped dead about 2weeks ago so the eggs should start getting clear now but got to try right?

Donna I am so glad you came we really enjoyed having you and your family there! Kenneth was the life of the party with his "tail" feathers we should have gotten a video of him, he was cracking me up!
We had the best fireworks display yet! Over 100 mortars I am sure all our neighbors got a good show too!
Glad you got the eggs in I hope they hatch for you Sorry about your roo.
