The Middle Tennessee Thread

I don't know how much we got here. There is a broom on the back porch and it is covered so maybe an inch inch and a half of everything.

Well, I had to work last night, when I went in about 6pm last night it was raining hard, I hit a few slick spots, but got to work fine. (work is near where Bell Rd. crosses Nolensville Rd. south of Nashville, I live between Springfield and Clarksville) I did not leave work until 8:30am, and it took me 2 hours to drive home, (part of that was stopping for gas and to remove ice from the wipers) so I feel I made good time!! It usually takes about an hour to get to work with no traffic, actually, just under one hour, so driving on the basic roadways like 431, 41, 31W, was much better than the interstates which were covered in wrecks, and it was just too bad to go that fast anyway, I drove 25 to 35 the whole way....slow and steady wins the race as they say!

Glad to be home tho!!

Looks like the dumb guineas decided to hang out with the chickens last night and did not go to the barn like they always do, they have snow and ice stuck to the feathers in their backs this morning, like they roosted on top of the chicken coop all night....

WTH were they thinking??
I tried to get them over to the barn so I could get them out of the wind, and give them some scratch, but they kept running the opposite directions....crazy birds...so whatever, I'm tired, going to bed....

One of my guineas was up in a tree when I left. I will see what happened to her when I get to the farm..... eventually. She might have frozen to death in the rain and cold.

We lost power at 3am last night. I rushed down to the basement and draped the incubator with blankets. Electricity didn't come back on until 11 am but the incubator didn't dip below 51 so I think I am in the clear.

Well we had ice here. Roads cleared pretty quickly this morning. It's only 17. And snow flurries all day. Not a lot of people out. I'm just so over this winter!

oh my gosh my work day was completely crazy....I was hoping people stayed home. I left the house everything was water and on the way to work the rain was freezing onto the windshield, the roads became a sheet of ice made for a very long work day. I cannot wait for spring so over this weather. I didn't lose electricity and the kiddos stayed home if all this refreezes they might be home another day I don't know but I am off tomorrow thank goodness!!! Hope every faired well

This one keeps a close eye on me lol. I have 1 out of the 10 that's trying to get pasty-butt so I'm keeping a close eye on it. They are hilarious. I forgot how much I miss having babies lol.
