The Middle Tennessee Thread

Hello, I am a new member from Memphis, TN.

I just ordered my coop yesterday and I am looking to buy young hens or pullets that about to lay the eggs.

I just want two chickens and most online place I looked they require minimum orders.

Please let me know if you have any for sale.

Thank you

I have 2, 1 month old Rhode Island Red Pullets for sale if interested. I live in the Collierville area.

Thank you Mshuntjump.

But I am looking for one that is already laying egg or about to lay the egg.

I dont think I can wait that long unless i dont have a choice.

Most breeders hatch Jan thru Mar.
Most hens who are laying right now are either being used as breeders (and their siblings sold last fall so we didn't have to over winter them), or for layer flocks who are filling the void till summer pullets begin laying. For this reason you may find it difficult to find something already laying - the pullets are all too young. Many of us have pullets for sale, but I know mine will not hit pol (point of lay) until at least the end of June, probably July.
You might get lucky and find someone with hens they are willing to part with, but if you want pullets you will likely have to wait a few months for eggs.
Hope that helps.

Thank you. I didnt know that they hatch certain time of year. Well, I learned another new thing.

Thanks

I have 7 buff orpington roosters at this time. Usually don't keep, raise, or sell RIRs at all if you are only wanting those. I just happen to have 2 RIR pullets right now.

In the past she has donated them to Lucky Ladd Farm, but I talked with her today and asked if she would be fine with hatching the eggs then just returning the chicks after about 2 or 3 days to the person the eggs came from. That way you could sell the chicks. She was fine with that.
