I lost a chick today. Seemed fine yesterday, today it was standing with its head hanging. It wasnt active at all. I also have an approximately 12 week old pullet that can't seem to balance, she otherwise looks fine. I've separated her from the others but wanted to know if there's something I should look for or a medication I should give her? I hate to loose two, thanks.
As for the 12 week old pullet….I had one last year with the same symptoms…it was Mareks according to the autopsy. Keep her separate until you know for sure. BTW she had been vaccinated for Mareks and got it anyway. I took her to Dr Jennifer Hatcher on Arno road and she diagnosed her and sent her off for the official determination.

Worried about this one.... hen or roo?

I didn't worry about showing comb because all 9 of them look the same there

Hoping yall could give me an opinion about this 9 week old chick. Been thinking it was a pullet but today saw it "squaring up" to fight with the buff Orpington roo tht is n thr with it thats the same age. It is a RIR cross and now not sure the sex of it. Didnt know if a pullet wuold try to fight like that. All opinions welcomed!!! Thanks!!

I am pretty sure I see saddle feathers in that first picture.

I'll try too look more closely tomrrw. Thght it was pullet til today whn they were playin and started to fight. Dont think a pullet will do tht. Right? He hasnt started crowing but the buff roo has for over a week now.
