Great the day before my Penedesenca eggs are due to hatch and a bad bad storm comes through knocking the power out. I wrapped the Bator's in blankets and am now praying

Here is a story of an epic journey of a man and his goat walking across America:

How long have you had them? Just a week or so right?

It may take them a month or longer for them to get comfortable enough to start laying consistently again and depending on their age they may even go into molt before a they begin laying...It just depends on their stress level mostly!
I got an olive egger from DMRippy and it took her awhile to start laying, now she's going like crazy. I think it's because she and the other one I got were put in with 7 other girls who had been there for quite awhile and they were playing the pecking order game as much as they could. Just be patient, could be a lot of reasons.

I am new to the chicken world! Live in Whites Creek. I have 6 chickens, unfortunately 4 of them are Roos so 3 of them will have to be rehomed eventually.

@DMRippy I think one of the blue hens is laying!! She was in the corner of the coop under the boxes and she got up cause I was feeding and then she went back in then I came back out and there was an egg it was the small one!

2 Blue and 1 Splash 100% English Orpington chicks, these babies are the best of the best! They came from Julie who was the very first person to import Orpingtons to the US over 25 years ago and she has kept the same line going since!
