Hi, I saw the Middle TN thread and decided to hop on. We live in Clarksville, TN. close to Fort Campbell. Just started our little chicken family with 3 BR's and 1Mystery chick, hoping to add a few RIR to the batch this week.

Thanks! I don't need enabling- I need sanity lol. We have 2 disabled children, a 10 month lab/husky mix, an 18lb cat, a squirrel (sorta a pet lol) and the 4 chicks.
If you find one let me know.Does anyone know where to get an accurate thermometer ? I swear I could have 27 of these things and they would all read something different![]()
Not sure we can help in that department.....![]()
3xWelcome but I agree with dm rippy.
Quote: That is odd, I have 2 and have been using them since I started hatching, they are accurate for the temp.... the humidity is off, but I think most of them are they is why you calibrate them. Have you changed the batteries? If it was not too long ago take it back and get another one...... Temps have never been an issue with mine.
I always use 2 thermometers. 1 is the thermostat and one is the AccuRite seems to work for me just fine. I have one that has the probe. I use the probe at the TOP of the bator and then I set the thermometer in the bottom so I can see both temps and the thermostat is in the middle that way I know the average is about right. In my hatcher the thermostat is at the top and then the little AccuRite is on the hatching baskets so I know what the temp is at the baskets.
I'm thinking this is a diff. model. It is the indoor/outdoor one. The remote (outdoor) part is about 4 inches long 1 inc thick 1.5 wide & one thing I noticed is that after awhile IT starts to get hot,That is odd, I have 2 and have been using them since I started hatching, they are accurate for the temp.... the humidity is off, but I think most of them are they is why you calibrate them. I don't find the other one.... but it is similar to this one. It keeps records of the Highs and lowest high and Lows and the Lowest lows.... you can reset all that, it keep a record of the humidity too. It has a probe connected to it and it keeps inside temps and outside.... I forget the humidity if it is inside or out.... anyway
