My SIL had one of the Maran eggs with the eggs she transferred to her incubator. So we're getting that chick back and 2 bantams. I figure insurance isn't going to play nice, and I need stress relief- why not?

I need ideas for a CHEAP coop... Well, four coops. It needs to be able to house a quad of English Orps which is the problem... They are HUGE. Then I have Lav Ams, Tolbunt Polish and my BCM need a new home as they are all going to live in one pen for now.

cheap , not pretty. I took 4 long pallets screwed them together on the sides. Added 2x4s at bottom front & back. Then every 2 feet on top. I've added a metal roof from the stuff that wasnt torn up in the storm. Added a double nest box on the back. Built a door & put 1/2 in plywood half way down with a floor for the coop. Added roost & it could sleep 20 birds just needs a bigger run.I can't get pic to load but its on page 919 . I'll get new pics of it with the mods I've done tomorrow.

Have you looked at my breeding pens? The only problems I have with them is I would like to put a bigger feeder in them and a fully automated water system. I would also change the runs to be either sand or gravel. Originally we thought we put gravel in them but it was as much dirt at gravel. They were made out of pallets and salvaged material from CL. I bought some used metal roofing (new would be easier without the holes) I don't think I have over $300 in all 10 pens. If I could get some of the crates from Johnson Electric I would get some for you too. They are not that far from me and we have a trailer now so I can get quite a few at a time. I can't get a hold of them

COULD YOU??????? IF you can just get me a name and number so I can call. I will pick them up for you. I don't need a truck load yet so I can share if they have them. I can go back and get more when I get ready to build more pens for the trios and pairs.

Do you need that Lexan yet? I can come by pretty much anyday this week if you need it. I know I will be running to Long Hollow tomorrow or the next day. I have to pay for an order my niece placed for me.

I am SO upset with my cat! He's always been the best cat around my birds, and overnight he snagged my blue chick out of the brooder. He didn't hurt it physically, but it was freezing cold when I found it I could just cry. Tried warming him up but he just didn't make it. :'(

I have a 20lb, 3yr old neutered and declawed cat that is fixing to be down to 8 lives...

I guess the good news in this is we got our bantams last night and my other Maran chick back. I really wanted to see what that blue Maran chick turned into tho
