A while back there were 2 or3 free sheds on cl. Now that I could use. Their all gone now. I need to check with a secret source to see if I can get some pallets made from 2x4 & 2x6 from them. Last time I was there they had about 30 that were atleast 5x6 or bigger.

I need some pens about 4x4x4 ish. I was going to use 2 of those boxes from Johnson to make a pen for pairs and trios. Just need something SMALL but not too small. I really like the idea of the boxes though. They are pretty much done. Just have to screw them together and cut holes.

Where you talking about me?

surely not.. I don't have any 5x6 pallets.

I am looking for sand. I think I am going to use that in my coops in the back. MOST of what we dug out today was pine shavings that fell out of the coop. I will find some, but I might have to buy some in the mean time. Bobcat is coming tomorrow to add gravel to the pens. We cleaned 7 pens today sort of. 3 more that are really muddy tomorrow... well mud may not be the right term but we are going to stick with that LOL. I am going to add some hydrated lime before he dumps the gravel in. We are so sore already. I hope we an finish tomorrow. I KNOW we will not get the gravel spread. That will be a slow process. The back of some pens are MUCH lower that the main runs. We will have to take the backs off to fill that in... again SLOWLY we will do this stuff. That stuff is HEAVY and I am OLD and a GIRL LOL

Hey Donna- quick update for you. The eggs are doing great. I culled 6 of them Sunday at my 7 day candling. I had 3 ?'s and several I couldn't see anything in. I'm ecstatic! I've soooooo missed my incubator. They are now at the stage that you can tell there's a chick in the egg because they just "feel" different and nose down naturally on their own now. Love it! You know a large part of those eggs have my initials on them...SLM. Kinda makes them my faves right off the bat.
I still need a year old +/- turkey hen for Tommy if you know where to point me for that.
Sorry for all the turbulence you've been experiencing. I couldn't imagine going through all that and managing over 3000 chickens.

Some days more than others

Things will get better when I an make more brooders.... having more chicks will not require any further action.... like building more pens, right.

Most of them are for sale....

I am going to set another 5 trays for orders, well some are orders some are for sale.... why do I keep hatching WHY????

there's a sheet metal shop by my office that has a sign out on the road saying free wood. Most of the sheet metal skids are 4' x 10' or 12', but I don't have a clue what they have in there or what skids it comes on. Architectural shops (like I work in) and HVAC shops are pretty different. They are on hurricane creek blvd. right on the edge of lavergne. Kinda close to what used to be Starwood. H&H sheet metal.

I picked up a TON on long pallets at a sheet metal shop off Old Hickory and I 24 to Clarksville. My neighbor gave me some they got concrete siding delivered on pallets.

OH I might could use them to build some BIG growout pens OUTSIDE. Long pallets for FENCING

I just need more time than I have to build everything I want.

<--- me right now. I need caffeine just to stay awake. Putting together brooders, cleaning brooders, moving brooders... I am TIRED of the word brooder. Chicks need to magically become adult overnight or something.
