I am male, and though I do not consider myself old, lets say I am no spring chicken...pun intended

. You and your husband met me in the new indian lake shopping area in Hendersonville. I think it was home depot or some other mostly empty parking lot, but my memory is not what it used to be, so dont hold me to that. I had replied to your CL listing for the older black lavender splits you had, but while we were corresponding you cut the asking price in half on the younger chicks you had in another lising, so I figured I might as well make the trip down there worthwhile. I regretted not getting some of the marans/ameraucana crosses after getting home...but they likely would have been eaten by whatever took the majority of the flock. You threw in one much older pullet from the rest, and she moved herself to the top of the pecking order here fast....lol, She is actually one of the survivors, and the most consistant layer right now even with the shorter days.

It is doing awesome I am going to introduce her to her flock sometime this week. I was waiting for it to warm up. I have been keeping her in a temporary pen for the moment. I am so glad to get her. Thank you so much again. She is awesome, Thanks so much again for allowing me to get her.
that is great...so glad she is doing well...has she laid for you yet?

Hi guys!I live in Arrington right Nexted to cool springs in Franklin.i have one question.Does anybody get there chicks from the poultry house in Arrington?Or do you guys buy any from local farms in middle TN?I just looking for local hatcheries in Arrington,Brentwood,Franklin, and places near there.thanks!

Most of us buy chicks from each other or eggs that we have shipped in. Most of us do not buy hatchery birds any longer. I like to buy local when ever I can no matter what the product.
Welcome to the thread!

Not yet, I can't wait til they all start laying again. I miss going out finding all the eggs. I am getting a houdan egg every now and then.
