Leah glad to hear things have turned for the better ! Donna did have a valid point if they haven't been wormed I would look into that. Internal parasites as well as external creepy crawlies can literally suck the life out. I have a soda bottle with 3 holes drilled in the top I keep a mix of DE and poultry dust in and routinely dust my birds. Pay special attention under the wings, and and in the feathers on the back of the hackle, bird lice will always show signs of eggs on the feather shafts deep down especially under the chin. Well I guess chickens really don't have chins..lol

Some times you don't see anything in the poop or externally. If she starts losing weight Leah text me and I will come over and we can worm them with pour on Ivermectin. I bought a bottle and it will last me a LIFE TIME. LOL Just a couple of drop per chickens is all you need. Kill internal and external parasites in one dose and no re-dosing required.

I need to hatch a ROO first. Like I said I have 2 of 4 egg developing now. So we will see if I get a roo or not. I can hatch eggs in a few weeks or months (when do you think the black pullet I got from you will start laying) I also have 18 LF Choc Orp Eggs coming in the Spring. If I can I will try to get some more eggs. His eggs are developing GREAT Really. Sent me 22 (from CA) and 16 are developing.
16 out of 22 from Cali that's awesome. The orps will take a little longer to lay i'm trying to remember when you got her how old is she.

You were in KY taking care of you Mom and I got them from your wife. I brought you the Polish that Becky bought you.

I think I got them in Aug. I would think 6-7 months old. When do they start laying? 8-9 months. SHE IS HUGE! She is almost as big as my GSBR roo and he looks like a turkey! BUT she is not as TALL as he is.

Sheeze Donna I can't remember I want to say the 3 I have now are from that same hatch and two of mine are laying. They don't experience any extreme cold as you know they are kept inside the coops in the garage it never gets below 40 in there. I would think she should be very close though.

Donna I got my 2 black pullets from chad also, I am sure they are the same age...one of mine is laying and has been laying for about a month now but the other pullet still has a little dark comb it is getting redder but nothing like her sisters comb...i looked back at some of chad's previous post and it looks like they were hatched sometime in the 3rd week of June so that would make them around 32 weeks

:barnie I thought my obsession with Marans was bad enough but now English Orpingtons and Donna, Chad, and Lotsa all have them too close good Lord I am in trouble :barnie
