The Middle Tennessee Thread

We got the kids up at 3-something and went to the safe room. An area of circulation passed just a couple miles up the road and there is a good bit of damage there. We only have a few limbs down; one landed on the chicken run. It knocked down the pulleys for the pop door but did no damage. The kids are out of school for no power. Feeling relieved that it wasn't worse.

Hope everyone is OK.

Oh, and 3/6 eggs as of 7AM. These ladies are amazing -- that limb had to shake the coop and make a heck of a racket!

Hope everyone is safe this morning. Bethpage is ok but debris is all over and trees down in a few places in yards. I was suprised to find my chicken coop stil standing. No power in most of Portland.

In the light of day..... I see 3 HUGE trees down just from my front porch. I bet when we get to the farm, hubby goes to buy a chain saw

Glad to hear everyone is ok....trees and limbs down here but it was scary for awhile. Weather alert went off on the phone and we turned TV on just in time to hear the sirens and head down to the basement....kept advised and went back to bed 45 minutes later.
Girls made it through fine hungry as ever!!

Sorry everyone had such a bad time. We were very lucky my place looks like Water World but other than that I think we missed it. Here in Sparta its pouring down!

I'm up watching the storm front on Radar. I hope everyone and their chickens are & remains safe!

What a storm. Heavy rain, heavy high winds and strangely, no lightning whats-so-ever.

Whit that said, the 3:12am blast that lasted 20mins sure showed telling tales of a few tornado. The sirens went off all around us if one could just stay calm enough to try to listen. The winds actully did a good job drownding them out. At the home front, we have young trees (sticks) while the farm has woods.

In the morning, we saw the light damage. The side panels were completely blown off of the coops. These are hung onto the coop for winter and easily removable for summer to keep the coops cool.

The tall grass fields near us had been swirled vs the typical layed and rolled pattern. Guessing that a twisting wind effect like a tornado came through the area out here. Hwy-76 had confirmed reports of a tornado just south of us. It took off roofs, exploded sheds, trapolins flew 1/2-mile away, trees down in a long path and over the highway.
