We got Tucker Milling feed last time and I HATE the chick starter. So many issues with pasty butt while we were using it. We switched back to Dumor for the higher protein percentage and we have had a lot less pasty butt.

We use Dumor as well...it's a little less than co op but supior in quality. Co-ops feed gives my chickens the runs and they all act as if they're still starving when fed the same quantity. We got Tucker Milling feed last time and I HATE the chick starter. Sweet!Well after many many many months of not having a REAL Sink..... I broke down and got one today. We went to the Re-Store and they had a nice PINK sink.... one that is like a kitchen sink but all one sink not divided. It was only $30 and a utility sink would have been $45 and would have been deeper but narrower. Anyway.... we are going to make a counter top from some scrap something and I can finally wash my chicken stuff in the shop instead of using the hose pipe.... I can have warm water![]()
Glad you got it! Wish we had enough time to have shopped around. Thanks for meeting up!Well after many many many months of not having a REAL Sink..... I broke down and got one today. Hope you have a good hatch! We didn't stay long. I had to ship eggs and get chicks out of the hatcher,
Our local one here in Waverly and the one in Dickson. I get chick feed for the higher protien. I have bantams and they snuff there noses at the pellets. It's $17 and change at the Co-ops here and it's $16-$17 for 50lbs a TSC. I get 20 %. In fact, I have found just about everything to be cheaper at TSC than my local co-ops.Which co-op do you visit where prices are higher than TSC? I'm paying $13.40 for 16% layer pellets at the co-op. Dumor layer is $15.50, Flockraiser is $19. If I call ahead, they'll get 21% layer for me at the co-op for the same price so I can go a little heavy with the garden scraps in summer. I know the mill is cheaper but pellets make me happy. They (Edwards) were also the folks who told me their feed was free of antibiotics and then loaded a sack with the blue label of disclosure for BMD. Not sure I'd believe them if they said they had an antibiotic-free chick starter today but I haven't called them yet.
