BTW.....I've gotten chicks from the co-op when I didn't know better......from hatcheries, same case here.....from the Poultry house because they had what I wanted at the time and a good reputation and was pleased, but by far......and not just because I want one of her Olive Egger pullets....but because I really mean it, you cannot go wrong with getting your chicks/pullets from Donna.....she knows her chickens, has beautiful birds, takes care of them, and is totally honest with you about what you are getting.....and to second what TinTennessee said, she's just a nice person whom I totally trust.

Hey ya'll- just posted on Go LSN and CLs some hatching eggs, ducklings and goslings.

Also thinking about selling them all: silkies, sebastopols, BEIs, OEGB, and English Orps- if anyone is interested let me know.

I am not giving them away, so those that have asked, I am sorry but they have too much invested to not see any return.

Oh heck, we're just telling it like it is!! Your honest, kind, forthcoming etc just an all around good person to deal with. You have a large variety of birds & bird ages. Now in the tradition of full disclosure, I have only bought birds from Donna. I've never bought from hatcheries or anyone else. She had what I wanted at the time and was more than fair. I have since talked to other people about breeds she didn't have and wouldn't you know it, now she has that breed. Why go any where else?!!!!

Well, last week I had someone let my chickens out, dump their food/water, and warp the gate. I temporarily got everything cleaned up and fixed. Then 2 days ago I caught them red-handed doing it again. It was a group of 7-8yr old boys. I talked to their parents and got some very sweet apologies. The kids were just bored and were told that if they caught my white chicken that it would be a good pet by an older kid that should have known better.

However, someone told their apartment manager about it and he came out and took pics of my coop (been here for YEARS) and we're afraid that because the new ordinance says no coops on property lines, that he's going to be a butt and send animal control. So we've decided that as soon as we get a nice warm weekend with everyone home and no one in the hospital- we're dismantling our coop and rebuilding it inside our privacy fence. Right now it is on the back of our property on the back of our privacy fence, and we plan on moving it up beside our house on the inside of the privacy fence.

It figures that we spent weeks fixing the existing run and coop, just to have to dismantle and start over. My poor girls are gonna be stressed while we move and transition over.

Was your coop there BEFORE the law change? You may be grandfathered in and don't have to do anything. Just a thought.

We were told that grandfathering doesn't count when the property changes hands. The original run and coop were there when we bought the house, but we bought it AFTER the new ordinance passed. I'm worried it could go either way, and I don't wanna take a chance with my hens. It will be nice to have them closer, and within the fence so I don't have to worry about kids messing with them again.
