Gee I regret it so badly that I didn't find you all until after I had ordered my chicks from a hatchery. It really bothers me that I paid quite a bit of money for some mixed up birds instead of buying from you all

I bet I'll never make that mistake again now that I know there are people relatively close that I can buy good stock from.

Just part of learning I guess. By the way, I live in Lincoln Co, TN.

I did the same thing when I started last year.....at least now you know! Welcome to the thread

Cinny do you have any older chicks right now.... like 10 weekish? If so I have some Olive Eggers that ARE pullets 3-4. One could be a marans not 100% on her. They came from blue eggs I hatched from KYTinpusher. The egg color was really pretty. Not sure how dark of an egg color the roo had but they should be Olive Eggers. All have pea combs except the one that might be a Marans.

PM me if that would work.... I just put them on CL with my GNH's. I am going though all my brooders and will be adding chicks as I find them to sell. I MUST clean out my brooders. I have 40 chicks coming from Paul Smith next week and 20 or so coming from Dick Horstman too.... plus the HUNDRED or so in the hatcher now

Note to self DON'T HATCH SO MUCH NEXT YEAR. YOU CAN'T COMPETE WITH TSC and $1 chicks when they don't want to keep them.

Hatch in the fall and sell the pullets.

TSC out here is still selling at $4 a pop. I got mine from a private farm for $3 and I think they're better. If they dropped them to $1 each though I'd grab some just for eggs alone. I'd love to set up a second area here for my broody hens and rooster and then leave the others here in the current room for eggs only. If I"m just going to eat the eggs I don't care how mixed up they are as long as they're healthy. LOL

I'm so impressed with those of you that do the incubators. A friend of mine has about 60 in hers now and she's been tucking the others that don't fit under her peahen!

Astone going to Dickson poultry show this weekend?

We went! There were some pretty chickens there. Met Judy Lee, the lady who started the American Paint Silkies. What a sweet lady! The silkies in the show were awesome as well as the Polish. Glad we went :D

Was someone here looking for a buff orp. roo? I've got a young one I got from hardinpoultry. I'm not having a lot of luck, my straight runs I've bought this year have mostly been cockerels. 1 pullet so far. PM me if you were looking for one.

I have a Moscovy duck that just went broody. She started off with 5 eggs, now she has 10. We have cut it off at 10. I have no idea if any will hatch. She got off the next dr a while the first couple of days. I think I will candle them next week. This is exciting!
