I don't really know what they are looking for. just cheap with table and chairs. he wanted to get married at the farm.....that is not going to work. troy he wants me to clean out the back barn so he can use that lol where would I put thatvstuff......he said grow it away....yeah right.

if the venue for a wedding and reception was cheap enough they could rent chairs and tables.

keep ideas coming!

WAY TO HOT AND HUMID! I need to really clean pens but this heat is just zapping my energy.

BTW does anyone know of some place to rent for a wedding and reception? we need tables and chairs and they have a limit of $600 from her parents......she paid more for her dress.......

How many people? Check out Rock Castle in Hendersonville. I know that weddings have been held there in the past. It is a very beautiful historic home of the man who did the original survey of the State of TN. I had mine years ago at the Belmont Mansion but I don't think it would fit in the budget. I don't know what the Rock Castle folks charge but it can't hurt to call and ask. You can rent tables and chairs from several catering companies in town. You do not have to have the whole wedding catered just to rent tables and chairs.

There is also a historic stage coach Inn half way between Hendersonville and Gallitin that does weddings in the garden behind the Inn. I have no idea what it costs to rent that.

I hope this is not considered hijacking but I would love to find someone who raises and sell Lakenvelders close to home. Does anyone know of anyone close?
I know of a couple of places in NW Georgia that have them, but I wouldn't consider that close to home....

Who ordered this heat???? Sorry I've been recluse - Trigonometry has been kicking my butt this semester. Especially since normally it's a 12 week class condensed to 5. Ugh.

Anyhoo... been letting the chicks out to roam the enclosed backyard during the day. They're getting big - lost count but around 10 weeks now. I think (not that I can tell myself) we have four roosters and two hens. I'll be building a run soon and keeping them separated. Next time I get chicks I'll find someplace to get just hens (like McMurray's or someone). Thinking also of getting different varieties as well.

I don't know the cost but there is the Bethpage Wedding Chapel in Bethpage, if that's close enough for them. Not sure on reception facilities. http://www.bethpageweddingchapel.com/

How about a local park? http://www.tn.gov/environment/parks/ Rentals of the pavillions are usually fairly cheap. We have some pretty parks around TN. Make the reception a potluck and BBQ.

My hubby and I (11 years ago as of 7-17) got married by a JOP on the courthouse lawn (most will hire out cheap and come to wherever, ours cost $50) and had a very informal "reception" at a friend's house with a BBQ, beer and just a lot of fun. We bought out rings at Wal-Mart for $20 each and still wear them.

Sorry for the multiple edits - keep thinking of things. You can get cheap decorations at Walmart, or those party stores. Use kleenex to make flowers and "glue" them to the car with a few drops of water. http://www.wikihow.com/Make-Tissue-Paper-Flowers Get someone good at cake decorating to do the cake - not too hard and cheaper than going to a pro. Usually tastes better, too. I've made a few myself, and if I can do it, most anyone can. http://www.southernliving.com/food/...ur-own-wedding-cake-00400000045050/page2.html and http://www.wilton.com/cakes/

I think a park might be the best option. we will see.

Awesome! Good luck with it all. I've done a few but it's been years (cakes). A bit hard now with the arthritis and PD.
