you know it is hot when.......

you open the bator and the heat doesn't come on AND it is cooler in the bator (Lower humidity anyway)

you don't need heat for day old chicks.

you could probably leave the egg outside the Hatcher for lockdown.

Someone on here hatched some out in a coffee can this time of year. She thought the eggs were bad and set them down in the can to throwaway later and forgot about them. I think a couple ended up hatching. lt is too dang hot and humid if eggs will hatch without an incubator!!

that is how I got 2 chicks from Foley! he had a bucket of eggs in the barn he forgot about and heard chirping and saved 2 chicks. one was a choc orpington.and the other was a SLW .... both roos of course! the slw died but I still have the choc orps and he FINALLY gave me some fertile eggs....yeah!

I have some in the Hatcher hatching. not sure what off the top of my head. I think I have 4-5 lavender Ameraucanas.....maybe some Plymouth rocks from my project. they are visually black.

I have 4 lemon cuckoo orpingtons that hatched Friday night and yesterday. I also have a pair of partridge brahmas that are 4 weeks old. The little roo is gold and the pullet is blue partridge. I can send pics. I can meet near Dickson. Message me if interested.
