Oh, and with this cold snap I dropped an aquarium heater down into my water jug, it is working perfect to prevent the water and nipples from freezing!

well I pit more plastic up. put insulation around the 55 gal tank. drained most of the water from the pipes. put the water pans in the coop. added fresh shavings to the pens inside.

fingers crossed I can get out to get them more water.

It went from 48 to 25 degrees in less than an hour here in Memphis. Still dropping. Still really windy. At least the rain moved out before it dropped. Ugg!!

The freezing rain worries me the most. I NEED to get in my car tomorrow LOL.... we don't need to lose power either.

The wind blow down one wall of plastic we put up yesterday. I hope that does not happen to the other walls.

It's 22 now, but going down to 10. Not supposed to be over 19 tomorrow. Hasn't been this cold here in over 20 years. Just crazy!

HAHA we will have you BEAT. Getting down to 4 tonight and high tomorrow of 8 low of 1 or 0 tomorrow night.

It has been colder here more recently. When we bought the farm (haha) we didn't prepare for the low temps. the pipes busted in the shop. I think it dipped down in the negative numbers for a couple of days..... $400 water bill for that one.
