I've got eggs!!!!!:D I checked yesterday after not checking Friday & found 5 eggs, I'm pretty sure 4 were from my white leghorns & 1 was from either an EE or my one of my BLRW. Either way I'm just glad to be getting eggs since I haven't had any since November.:D:eek:

They new it was going to be your birthday today and they wanted you to have FRESH EGGS for the cake!

Well we got 2 doors on the new cages. I finished out one with plastic liner and moved the Jubilee Roo in that nice new pen. Tomorrow I will finish out the other one and move someone in there..... maybe we can get the doors on the other ones tomorrow.

I hatched some chicks yesterday.... DON'T put BLRW and Rhodebars in the same basket to hatch

I hatched some Olive Eggers with my White Leghorns..... they are ALL WHITE WTH???? I have Blue and Black Coppers with my Lav Am roo (he throws whites but not that many)

and one that looks like a paint maybe and 2 that are CHOC. Someone is hiding something in the wood pile..... Countrypunk suggested they are Dun but Dun is like blue and expresses if they have it RIGHT????? I also hatched a choc Wyandotte and they look just alike color wise...... the toes give it away LOL

HOLLY I know you pop in most of these silkies came from you..... any ideas?

How about some pics?

These are the 2 choc looking silkies

Here are the 2 choc silkies with a choc Wyandotte

Here is a group shot 2 partridge on each end the Paint looking one on the left a blue, and the 2 choc flank the black to the top

Close up of the choc Silkie for color

This the paint maybe?????

Anybody know silkies??????

but like blue dun expresses with one copy and I don't have any dun birds

I am leaning to splash.....but I don't have 2 blue birds to make splash.

But wouldn't chocolate be the same way? Have to have the gene for it?

And if you have one blue bred to white, wouldn't that dilute the blue?

No if the roo is split for choc it will not express. No white is different than blue. The White is probably recessive white since I didn't get any white chicks. Need 2 copies of rec white to express. Blue expresses and so would Dun.
