Well we got 2 doors on the new cages. I finished out one with plastic liner and moved the Jubilee Roo in that nice new pen. Tomorrow I will finish out the other one and move someone in there..... maybe we can get the doors on the other ones tomorrow.

I hatched some chicks yesterday.... DON'T put BLRW and Rhodebars in the same basket to hatch

I hatched some Olive Eggers with my White Leghorns..... they are ALL WHITE WTH???? I have Blue and Black Coppers with my Lav Am roo (he throws whites but not that many)

Now for the KICKER the silkies..... I have Buff, White and Partridge Roos over Partridge and Gray pullets..... I hatched 2 partridge, 1 black, 1 gray or blue

and one that looks like a paint maybe and 2 that are CHOC. Someone is hiding something in the wood pile..... Countrypunk suggested they are Dun but Dun is like blue and expresses if they have it RIGHT????? I also hatched a choc Wyandotte and they look just alike color wise...... the toes give it away LOL

HOLLY I know you pop in most of these silkies came from you..... any ideas?

Donna..Holly and Jonathan are on a cruise and have no internet connection right now. They will be back from this cruise for about 5 minutes and then are off on another one to get married, so I don't know if they will get much internet time in between. What is MFL? is that what you said you hatched with the silkies??

Donna..Holly and Jonathan are on a cruise and have no internet connection right now. They will be back from this cruise for about 5 minutes and then are off on another one to get married, so I don't know if they will get much internet time in between. What is MFL? is that what you said you hatched with the silkies??

Oh, and Michael says Holly has the following in Silkies: Buff, Paint, BBS, Lav, white and porcelain. He says he thinks she had some partridge, but may have sold them all..and he can't remember when she sold them, so not sure if you got partridge eggs or not. That probably doesn't help, does it

Everything I have is from her except 1 I think.... I have partridge, grey, white, buff. I just think the WHITE may have come from the paint pen as she told me they don't all come out with spots. ..... Not biggie anyway. They are pretty much just mutts. I will keep a few interesting ones and cross those back with the white roo maybe.

AMEN! My watering pipes we put in over the summer BURST last week.... not when it was 0.... but when it was in the 40's 110 gallons of water in the pens. It was popped at a T connection and the pipe was SPLINTERED for about 10 feet to one side of the T. Strange really. We are going to wait till it gets warmer to try to fix them. I was not satisfied with them anyway. They drilled the holes to big and the nipples would pop out or leak too much. I think they also didn't pitch the pipes like they should.... that may have been why the cracked. I need to be able to drain the water in the cold weather and I think it was in a low spot and the water didn't drain like it should.

I found were she sent me a KEY and I did have a paint egg go into lockdown and she said they would throw whites and blacks too. We will see.

ooh that sucks Donna...saw your little silkie babies adorable! I am thinking of hatching some BBS silkies soon....yours are big now 10 hens and 3 roos not too bad...I saw on craigslist someone wanting to buy some roosters I may be giving them a call soon. They are all running with a golden cuckoo roo and hen and he is putting up with them for now we will see.

I need to get my roos sorted so I can call the roo guy. Going to cull them down to BARE bones this time.

Has anyone contacted the person on Craigslist from Nolensville wanting to buy chickens, roosters, turkeys, geese, etc.? What are they doing with them (I assume meat) and what are they paying?
