Congrats!!

I am originally from NY but have been here in TN for 15 yrs love it!!

I think a lot of us are transplants. I'm originally from WV been here 5 years

The rule of thumb is 28 days. I've hatched turkeys twice and both times they hatched on day 25-26. These are about half done. I was candling because my digital thermo had a high of 108 recorded yesterday. I was afraid they would be goners so I was only checking for movement. I saw that on my first one so I just put it back and didn't check any of the others. I tried to get it to do it again so the first lady could take a pic of it, but that didn't happen. It moved plenty but didn't do the feet thing again.

Welcome to all the new folks. I must be a rarity, I'm a native Nashvillian. Lived here all my life except the 3 years I lived in Louisiana as a kid.

I got some turkeys today 3 of each....not quite sure what they are....I got them at Co Op here in Eagleville...they finally had some when i went in

These Turkeys are so sweet when you put your hand in the brooder they come running up to you!!

The turkey poult looks similar to my naragansetts poults from a couple years ago. Here's a pic of them.


Sadly, I found all four of these dead in their grow pen one morning. I have 5 turkey eggs incubating now a little over half done.

cool thanx I was wondering....I am guessing the yellow will be some sort of white or light brown
