The Middle Tennessee Thread

Thank you to all who replied to my request for chicks! I have found what I need. Thank you so much!!

I am actually Robertson County. I live in a subdivision but there are no HOA fees. Ice looked online but never found anything.
I am just a couple of miles from you but on the Sumner side. The most important thing to know is how your neighbors feel about it. For instance on my road every one of us like a good bonfire now and then. So as long as we don't see someone being careless or burning tires we don't get up in each others business and insist on seeing a fire permit every time someone lights a fire.

If your neighbors are cool with hens but not roosters that is important to know. Even if the rules are officially no if you have neighbors that don't mind it is possible. A good working relation with the neighbors is one of the most important things even if the rules are yes.

How large is your property is one question? There was a meeting about chickens in Sumner County back in the spring but I got my times mixed up and missed it. There are many who are wanting chickens to be allowed (at least hens) in the city limits. If you have 5 acres it is not problem. But the meeting was to address chickens on properties under 5 acres.
