I got a ameraucana/welsummer cross from citygirlinthecountry last spring and she is one of my favorite pullets! They lay beautiful, shiney green eggs and she is a gorgeous hen. Thanks Anne!

I would love to see a picture of yours.

Are any of the eggs in the bator from that pullet??

Pictures! We want pictures!

I will get hen pictures tomorrow. I have got to work for a few minutes now. What an inconvenience. Here is a picture I just took to post on facebook of eggs I collected today. Going to see if I can sell some there.

You can see one of her eggs on the left hand side. It is really greener. Anybody need eggs? LOL I will get better pictures tomorrow.

If they are green they are. She is a great layer and rarely misses a day.

I'm pretty sure there are some of hers in each batch (the due dec 24 & the NYD HAL ) I'm due to candle tonight (day 14 & 7) so I'll pay attention , so fun to have stories & info on particular birds/eggs, if I end up w/ pullets from her eggs I can name them something to remind me they go all the way back to a hen from citygirlinthecountry :) & I'll pass that on to my friend Amy for her new homestead flock b/c she too will soon be a city girl in the country, how perfect!

I love the connections from my little farm to other little farms. It's like a big spider web of chickeness! :)

For the record, I tend to give mine Shakespearean based names. It's why I had a Hamlet (big, black and brooding AM roo) and an "Alas Poor Yorrick".

That is wonderful. Amy who a portion of these chicks are going to is a big reader, so I'll tell her about the naming tradition for any of the green egg chicks she gets, I'm sure she will continue that.

The original Alas Poor Yorrick got caught in a wayward coop door accident and for weeks walked crooked. He recovered, but the name stuck. Since then every splash roo has gotten that name. Now it is because of how the old girls tend to treat the young roosters. Despite their enthusiasm, they get no love from the old hens. Ha!

Here are a few pics of my Ameraucana splash pullet and my blue EE. I got my second green egg today!!! eek!!!

I'm so jealous of how many eggs and different colors you get a day!! So pretty! I can't wait for my FBCM to start laying!!! Right now I'm just getting about 6-7 eggs a day with a mix of white, light brown, tan, and now green. Soon to add blue and dark brown!
