My daughter has named her star. But my husband calls her the hawk.

This beauty is Midnight, my wonderful green egg layer!!

Awww... she did turn into a gorgeous splash. I LOVE the splash and get so few splash chicks. She's lovely!
Those blue EEs look so much like the blue AMs, except for the comb. I can't really tell in your picture, but the ones I kept all have this weird cross between a peacomb and a single comb. It's like it can't decide what to be. :) They also all seem to have adventuresome personalities. My AMs all seem to be a little flighty, but the EE and OE girls come running to be in the middle of things. Silly chickens!

Here are pictures of a splash and the olive egger hen I got from CityGirlintheCountry last spring. The green egg was from the brown hen.

I got my first CCL egg today! I think they are almost 8 months old. It seems big for a pullet egg.
I had just about decided they were only eye-candy.

Yes, I absolutely love my splash! And yes the OE comb is a little different than the AM.
Both the AM and OE are a little flighty. But the AM is more so. But I'm slowly breaking through to them will all my treats. Lol.

They are so pretty! It's so exciting when they finally start laying! I'm like a little kid! Lol

Oh, my goodness! The blue and brown is from my welsummer/Ameraucana mix? She's Awesome!! The ones I kept turned out more blue. She's cool looking!
Thanks. I think she's rather beautiful too.
I've got 2 of your grandchick eggs in the incubator right now. They appear to be developing. We will see what they turn out to look like on NYD!

She looks a lot like my first EE, who was a terrific layer, literally 7 eggs/wk for 6months, 3yrs in a row. Never could get a single live chick from her w/ 3 different Roos so I gave up & just enjoyed eating the daily eggs , mint green & the 1st time I'd ever seen or heard of colored eggs! I apparently have at least 4 of you girl's eggs at the 15 day mark in the bator, finger's crossed they all hatch & are pullets!

My CCL have taken forever & a month to start laying also, I've read lots of other ppl say they lay at 6m but that has not been what I've found across 4 birds from 3 diff. sources.
On the other hand, they are pretty birds that lay a pretty egg, appear to enjoy foraging free range & don't mind bad weather to do it, & have fit into about the middle of the flock causing no issues w/ various other birds (breeds ages etc) so I'm good w/ that part :)
