The Middle Tennessee Thread

Donna I am so pleased with the Sapphire, Tizzy. She has given me an egg almost every day now. I may have to change over to mostly Sapphires and SBELs . I love the every day egg. The Wyandotte Bantam roo is totally bessotted with her but he can't figure out how to line things up to breed her proper. I have put her with the Olive Eggers to his dismay.
I have 2 pullets in my layer pen and since they are such good layers I gave 2 others away LOL. They were blind (mostly) so I just didn't need them for eggs. Then I added an older WL hen and I think there might be 2 more but one is going to a breeding pen soon I think. They give me more eggs a day than I can eat LOL. I can't eat fertile eggs but everyone else in the family is ok with them so I am the only one that needs SPECIAL eggs LOL.

I have an order of the Sapphires and CCL's eggs going to Bonnies Thursday. Then I have another order shipping Monday too. I only have 3 girls making those so I don't get a ton but they are VERY popular. Did you still want some SPW eggs for the hatch along? They are laying ok right now. I have a couple of pullets that are not laying yet.

Yeah I'd like to but DH says no right now. I am going to hatch out some quail for some people who want some. He is not even happy about that. He is sure that I will get stuck with baby birds that I don't have a place for. He acts like I don't have waterers (I do, quail ones), or feeders (I do) or 2 plastic tubs and a large wooden shipping box and enough hardware wire to make lids and two heat lamps ( I do need one more bulb).

If anyone is looking for some nice golden sex links for an egg laying flock I will be selling 6 of these lovely ladies. Also they have been free ranging with 3 Bielefelder Roosters so I'm sure the first two weeks you will have fertile eggs should you want to incubate them. Chicks should be similar to redbar / rhodebars. These are very good egg layers and they are close to a year old. Hatched for a 4-h program last spring.

I don't think we were doing much better lately! :gig

Hopefully, we're done with that weird weather, so come on down! :D

Thx Ravyn it's on my list. Today we are building new breeding coops.
