1 is possibly Brahma, maybe Dark Brahma... 2 looks like a Mille Fleur d'uccle... 3 I think looks like Buff Cochin... 4 could be Porcelain d'uccle... not sure on 5 & 6... Cochins should be clean faced, single comb... d'uccles are bearded, single comb.... and brahmas have pea combs... hard to see those in the pics, so I'd check for those... cute chicks! :)

Before I found this thread I started with 3 chicks from TSC….guy there was very helpful, I got healthy chicks and they did great.

Stopped in today for some feed….not getting chicks….but they are so cute so I looked. Apparently now you get your choice of "pullets" or non sexed Americanas…..what is the deal????? This is the 2nd year they have done that and guess what, they are not selling!

SURPRISE….maybe its because no one knows what they are getting!

I don't understand why they have unsexed chicks. They know most people want sexed pullets. That is one reason I have never bought from TSC.

I just picked up my first Bantam order

It was a feather leg assortment from ideal and all arrived alive! My only question is how do you tell the difference in Brahmas, d'uncles, an cochins? I know silkies have an extra toe but I have no idea how to tell the difference in the others this young.

Go to Murray McMurray and look up the breeds. On all they have a still shot of the chicks and most have a video.

Well I won't ever again….they had 2 troughs of "pullets" and 2 of "unsexed"…..crazy….and tons left because people won't buy them that way. Years ago when I got my 3 I knew the sex and the breed.

I am having a great hatch! FINALLY! I have 2 vaporizers, 1 fogger and 2 puppy pads. Humidity is NOT high but decent. They are still drying out some but I can get to them before they die. I had SO MANY make it to lockdown I had to put 4 doz in the bator and add humidity. Glad the bator was empty. Now I have to set more eggs BUT I MUST NOT SET SO MANY! Glad someone from church needs 8 doz eggs for a church event. That will give me incentive to cut my numbers the next batch. I put some up on the FB page. I will be added more as they hatch and people let me know what they want.

@RavynFallen I am getting about 50/50 lavender and white (2 Lav Pullets, 2 White Pullets and 1 each cockerels but I think the white was the sire)

Hello all! I've been away from the chicken game for a while but I just moved out to Carthage, TN and got a couple coops up and I'm looking to fill them! Anyone have some babies or hatching eggs for sale? I'm looking for blue/green egg layers, cochins, and am open to whatever other healthy babies you may have. I went to the tractor supply and they were selling black sex links straight run and every one of those little buggers had a white spot on their head so I figured, I'd come check with you guys. I can pick up today or tomorrow after 2 and anytime Monday and Tuesday.

I have 3 broodys sitting in my laying pen. The roosters in there are Silverudd Blue (Isbar-green egg layer), Australorp, and Swedish Flower Hen. The hens are EE, AM, 5 different kinds of marans, leghorns and OE. Those chicks should be hatching beginning next week. Today I have some green egg layers and dark brown leghorns hatching. I may also have a couple of isabelle leghorns not spoken for in this hatch. I have 3 SFH chicks that are about 2 weeks old. I have plenty of little SB roosters I'm not using for breeding if you want a good natured, production, green egg gene rooster in your flock. I am between MJ and Lebanon.

Silverudd Blue (SB) is the new name for Blue Isbar. They are a production, green egg laying breed imported from Sweden. They are medium size, but lay large green eggs and are excellent foragers.
