They shouldn't... like I said, they imprint on home and flock really well... just let them out the first time when you can be around to watch them... but I bet they'll be just fine... harder to keep them off your porch and out of your hair more than anything, lol!

I have been letting my turkeys out since Saturday and they do very well. Thank you for your advice!

What precautions do I need to take?   Is there a thread on that somewhere?  How long do they need to be separated?

There's a guide in the Learning Center forum... just search The Essential Quarantine and you should find it...

Very glad to help... turkeys love to get out and forage... :)

Read up! Basics 30 days. ALWAYS go to the quarantine LAST and never go back to your birds after visiting the quarantine birds. That was the HUGE mistake that was made in the horror story I could tell you. (this didn't happen to me but someone I know) Clean clothes and SHOES!

WOOPS!  I posted on the OTHER thread requesting one LOL.  AWESOME!  No rush.  I think I will stop hatching from mine then.  I just don't like my cockerels.  2 would be great!   Then I can get you some pure eggs when they mature.

Will see what I can do... just hatched another white, black split, and the off color again, lol...

Also learned to check the beak color right away now... almost sold off a white chick last month as a Lav, lol...

Anyone have any ideas what could be wrong with my 3-year old silkie hen? Over a week ago, I noticed her acting strange and discovered she was limping. I've checked all over her feet and legs and can't find any kind of cut or bumble foot. She can kick both legs and move feet-so not broke. She's having a hard time getting to food and water, so I've been bringing her inside in the afternoons through morning to make sure she gets enough food/water. Before today, she was just limping, but acting other wise happy-eating, drinking, pecking. But today, it's like she can't put weight on either leg. They kind of go out to the side. She barely ate, and just keeps falling asleep. I can't find anything externally wrong, I can't even tell which leg is actually hurt. I did discover she had mites, so I treated for that, but that has been the only thing I can find wrong with her. Thanks for your help!
