Anyone got silver appleyard ducks? We have 4 and that's not quite a flock. Looking for 5 or 6 more. Hatching eggs are ok as well.

Hi all. Just wondering if anyone knew of anyone in the Spring Hill, Columbia, Mt Pleasant area that would have chicks for sale? We lost most our flock (only 3 left out of 19) to a raccoon week before last. Caught the dang thing red handed in the coop at 7 a.m. Managed to hit it but not kill it.

Are there any suggestions for local breeders in the area? I've been researching the different hatcheries online but can't stand the thought of chicks being shipped in a box on a UPS truck and opening up to find them dead. I'm such a softie.

We also have an incubator so could possibly hatch some out (that's how we built the previous flock). Also, have you used the online hatcheries? McMurray, Ideal, Meyer, etc?

I have quite a herd ( 50 ish) of SFH chicks of various ages. Also have a broody hatching more today or tomorrow.

I used McMurray for my first ducks, and they all arrived fine and grew up perfectly healthy. I would have bought more from them, except for the fact that raising from ducklings was more work than I am interested in right now.

I recently went to Poultry Hollow and wasn't overly impressed. I've seen reviews for them on both sides- some raving and some saying horrible things. I got two ducks that are 2-3 months old, so at that age where there is no drake feather but can start to tell by voice. I specifically told her that one sounded male, but she assured me they were all female. We will see come a few weeks. So far no issues but I don't know that I'd go back. But given the time of year and that you are essentially starting from scratch, maybe worth a shot.

Hi! I am in Ashland City but work in Nashville. I have a few Black Australorp and Olive Egger eggs in the incubator that will hatch in 2 weeks if you are interested in those!

Anyone have Indian Runner Ducks? I got three at a swap this past weekend but think its two drakes and a hen. Going to have to have more hens. They are so funny to watch. But tend to be a little more skittish and not as tame as other breeds. Maybe in time they will calm down.

As I said earlier, I've got Swedish Flower Hens chicks in several sizes! Also have new hatch SFH's and several sizes and colors of Silverudd's Blue (isbars) .

I wish in bad known this before yesterday! I just picked up 2 from another breeder for a friend of mine. You have more color variety to choose from.

I have a bunch of the German import stock as well as the GFF stock, which makes for more diversity. In a couple of months, I will be letting go of excess roosters from Carmela Migliori, Lisa Flower and Bartel farms stock too. If chicken math strikes your friend, I have bunches of chicks! Love my Swedes! You never know what you will get.

Chicken math really hit her hard. I'm trying to get her up here for a visit, but she may leave with a car full of chickens if she does that!
