I would never poo again--and be happy with it! LOL If I had 22 pounds of cheese I would weigh 500 pounds, LOL. I might be able to get my husband to take a cheese trip sometime, lol.

Jenski-one of my black Ameraucana pullets I kept for Sam decided to burst out a deep red comb and saddle feathers almost over night

How dare him hide this long!
So if anyone needs some bantam Roos I have a pile of them Ameraucana, AmSils-Ameraucana Silkie cross but not silkied, Cochins, Silkies, I'll give them to anyone needing one or all
Now,I'm going to go play out with my chickens in the Sun..hope everyone gets to enjoy the sun today even if it's a bit cool.

Aww Holly, sorry about your "closet" roo! (Not that there's anything wrong with that. Ahem.)

If you are doing to Dalton, why don't you sell him there? Surely he would get snapped up. I was all set to go to the big show this weekend, but my car is in the shop . . . if it emerges intact, I'm not sure I will trust it for a long trip until I toodle around town for awhile. Ah well.

Strange springtime weather this week, eh! It would be nice to get a bit more sunshine, but I reckon that would just make the grass shoot up faster! Remember MOWING, everyone???? - - twice a week to keep the jungle down?? Sweating?? A million bugs??? Good times. Can't wait for summer!!!

Hope you all have a good day, and enjoy the pre-buggy weather while it lasts.

was supposed to be leaving for Savannah on Monday and with the price of gas 2 trips in a few days.....now we changed the trip.My blue roo could give them a run for their money no doubt but my black guy is just now getting better.Took lots of hugs,a few rounds of kids tv sitting on the couch and some Corid to drink and gourmet scratch to eat but he's about all fixed back up...shipping stress on an older fella.
Lost my Red Sussex Roo last night..he was out free ranging with the wise older birds and guess they didn't teach him well since he's no where to be found.
Hey Jenski-we have some of the Cornish hens in with the Wyandotte roo now...meat and it should really improve the lacing on the Cornish. We may have to get together for a chicken BBQ later this Summer when those bugs are out and we are wishing for cooler weather

Not sure about up there but our Co-ops all have it here in small bags where they sell garden/bug stuff like Sevens and in #50 bags out back but make sure you tell them the correct name not DE..they may not know that's the shortened term.

I called two or three local mom and pop feed stores and Tractor Supply. :-( No go. I got a PM from a member that may be able to help me. Man this forum is awesome.

I think my husband is gonna have to take me *GASP* out of town someday to do some shopping, LOL.

If you were closer I would give you some..I buy it in the big bags..although our co-op sells so much of it that way they had to "find" it in the warehouse then double check they had the right stuff

I used to get DE at the Farmers Co-Op. They've since got an independent operation handling that end of their business, flowers, plants and such. Just got a bag there yesterday.
You can buy it online also. Rather than paying gas to travel for it right now, shipping might make better sense. I love the stuff.

Have it under the furniture to kill fleas, and under the cushions on furniture, too. I spread it in the basement cuz we were getting a BIG crop of spiders last year. Took about 2 months to get them all, but I can't find a live spider anywhere down there now!!! I've added it to some grains to stop insect infestations - just put the grain into a colander or sieve to shake it off, then rinse.

Thanks guys. I am gonna keep calling around. We have time before I'll need it for chickens but I wanted to use it with my other animals and around the house for ants and other nasties.
