Pam I bow down to your greatness! Wow you put that perfectly!
Oh btw the chickens are still eating eggs. We thank you very much! You should come see us and take home some new babies

I just can't stop hatching! I did build a play pen for my babies today. I hope to cut down on the feed bill at least. And Edward was loving life and giving out all kinds of rooster rides while playing in the grass. Fertility in that pen should go way up now. Hey if I build enough play pens you think I can just let the chickens cut the grass for me? Now I am dreaming I know.

matlock I have my method of incubation on my website. Not bragging but I have only lost one egg that was fertile in the last 3 mths. Good luck with your hatch.

Speaking of rooster rides...

I have a young EE cockeral in my EE pen along with the black ameraucana. The young EE boy is VERY EXCITED about making more little EEs and practices every chance he gets. I looked out today to see the doof standing on the back of one of the girls turning first one way and then the other like he couldn't figure out which end to work with. Thankfully he's pretty.

Well since I'm beginning to lean toward ruling out the wal mart eggs, the five tinted ones that were donated to me I think are EE, but honestly, I'm not sure what they are. The hens were pretty. They were gold with black streaks and they had the puffy necks like americaunas. The roo looked like a dominecker.

fingers crossed for you too.

. You should see some veins on day 7 more than a blob

Newbie alert! Newbie alert!

What the heck is a rooster ride? Do the babies hop on pop?

And Tish, I'd love to come visit, but no babies - I repeat - no babies. No room in the inn, plus the dozer guy still hasn't been here to dig a swale to prevent (we hope) future flooding. I'm not talking a wet pen, I'm talking water 2' deep so a baby wouldn't stand a chance!

So I couldn't wait to candle... it's day 5 for me, but I got some not too bad pics to show.
this one shows the dark spot right by my handwritten O. Also shows veining, but you have to look hard to see it in the pic. In person was phenomenal!

This is a pic of one on it's side where you can see the air pocket and the mass. I'm ecstatic!

So far I'm happy with my progress.

Matlock, I love that first candle when you can see the veins. Somehow that one is more exciting to me than the later candles. Granted, it is pretty cool when you can see the tiny baby swimming around in there.

How many are veining up for you?

Everyone be careful in tonight and tomorrow's storms. It is supposed to be nasty.

So far just the one veining. All 5 of the EE eggs are looking good. Also 5 of the wal mart eggs made 1rst cut. I'm not holding much hope for the wal mart eggs, I just thought I'd give it a shot. After all, it is only day 5.
