The Middle Tennessee Thread

Well, the good news is that he didn't say no. The bad news is that he didn't say yes either. He wants to discuss it more on Friday. Sigh. In the interim he wants me to write up a business model for my idea and fill it out a little more. In the meantime I'll go to tomorrow's interview and see what they have to say. Company C has to wait until company A says no since I am proposing the same idea to C. Company A gets first dibs. So I still don't know anything. Sigh.

We haven't heard from Believer in a while. I have gotten a couple of email forwards from her, but nothing personal. I'll try to send her an email to see what's up.

Ahh it's so nice to be missed by someone

It's crazy here right now..my internet is crud so I'm working on changing it so hopefully it will work better..I'm also trying to get a vacation in somehow real soon..like next weekend but it's fighting me...my vacation spot is Outer Banks NC

my jeep needs 4 tires but will get by with 2 since we don't drive it much and then my propane tank was reading E and that's like filling a few 18 wheelers or something then for kicks I plugged in the refrigerator in the camper and it won't cool...where did I put that winning lottery ticket

I will win this battle and get away for a few days yet...somehow.

Jenski-Only for you would I board a cute little rooster Hey I've been doing a rain dance a belly dance any dance but no rain..you have had more than we have-we missed the last one a few weeks ago that you guys were lucky to get. It's just crunchy here.I was just over in your neck of the woods..how do you stand living in such a snooty place as MT.J I could insert a LONG rant here. You just need to move closer to nice normal people that have chickens and roosters in the yard

Anne-I'm tempted to borrow back one of those cuties...I'm thinking take those roos and cross them with the buff silkie crosses from the Mille Pen..ok maybe I'm thinking too much
th.gif

Hoping you get the job you want so you can stick around we say you can't move.

Emmalyn-I'm not sure if I will be around that week yet..I'll let you know when it gets closer.Right now I'm not going to any shows other than Crossroads..too many Girl Scout commitments this fall.

I'm ready for a meet up as long as I'm here.I don't care where
lol.png

Holly- I am happy to bring them back to you. They are adorable! I just am up to my eyeballs in roosters. There is already a silkie roo in that pen and the pen just isn't all that big. Once these guys hit adolescence it will be out and out rooster warfare in there. One of them keeps escaping in to the large fowl pen (he's a good little flyer). I keep catching him and tossing him back over into the appropriate pen. I keep telling him he's going to get his cute little butt kicked if he keeps trying to play with the big boys.

How do y'all feel about a meet up this weekend some time? It's a long weekend for some. We could maybe do Sunday?

Well I'm so excited I'm getting that EE roo! It's almost like after all this time i'm gonna have a few of the same things! Can't wait to go get him. I hope he likes it here with the apple dumpling gang...

My lame hen is back to about 90%.

I saw her using her bad foot for the last couple days, so I think she's on the mend. Her being hurt actually helped us get a better "relationship". She likes me now.

I really hope you get the job you want citygirl... I got the job I wanted a few months ago, and since then I've been a dad-gum mess! I've worked in that shop since March of '07, but I got in the office back in June, and it's like now I just get chewed out all day long for the same money I was getting paid to be an artist. I guess I shouldn't gripe, I've not broke a sweat there all summer, just pressure I'm not used to dealing with. I'm curious about what you do that is so secretive you can't apply for multiple jobs. I'd stand on the corner with my skills and sell 'em to the highest bidder if the construction industry were better right now. In the sheet metal world, there are only so many suppliers and so many buyers, and all know each other. I'm way limited.

I had one hell of a time this weekend hooking up a dang fridge with ice/water in the door... I used a saddle valve on cpvc line and ended up having to go under the house most of the weekend fixing my own eff ups! The access door to get under my kitchen is in the part of the yard where the goats are so the billy goat (bob) wound up under the house with me... by the time I got him outta there he had so much spider web wrapped up in his horns and face he looked like a cotton candy from the fair! He didn't try to come under there anymore after we got him cleaned up. I ended up having to plumb hard lines to fix everything. Nothing like paying for something twice!

I do have one question for all you seasoned vets... Can I keep all my mixed up mash of chickens together all winter or do I need to separate breeds to have good eggs in the spring? And If I do mix them up, how long after I separate them till I get "pure" eggs?

Hope you all are well.
Sam

I'm not trying to be secretive. I proposed an educational/sales job to my old boss. Essentially I have created a new position that potentially could be very profitable for his company. It would be bad form to propose it to someone else without giving him first shot at it. He was a great boss before and I owe him a great deal. Since the other companies I would propose it to are his direct competitors it would be kind of evil to not let him decide if he can do it first. It would kind of be like stabbing him in the back, you know? I owe him the courtesy of first refusal.

I totally understand that, I just wondered what the final product was. It's cool if you don't want to say. I'm going through so much crap at my job right now it ain't funny. I get "the phone call" for making 20%! I think 20% profit is pretty effin good for something we only take off a truck and put right back on a truck. we don't have to do anything special to it, just unload it and load it back up. Make 20% on your dollar! I'd love that deal! It's not good enough for them. I wish they understood we ain't the only place that sells metal roofing materials. there are at least a dozen in mid tennesee alone.
I price competitive to everybody else, but I get in trouble for it. What I hate the most about my job is the phone calls. They never stop and it goes on all day. You can't get one thing done without 3 phone calls asking for info about 9 different things.

As an edit... Citygirl....Congratulations to you for being so forward thinking and honest in your trade. That's very commendable! I admire your dig into it ethic and I hope you get your local job. I wish I could help influence the decision. I think you'll get what you need, cuz I believe the LORD gives you that, no matter who you are.

Candled the eggs and this is what I got... out of 57 eggs I got 31 developing nicely.

26 that are not

Some were really dark and could not see anything but a large mass so I didn't know what was going on in those. I put the good eggs on top and the not sure eggs on the bottom just in case something happens.

Some just looked like an egg with a yolk... should I just toss those really? Nothing, no blood of any kind and still very wiggly, sloshy looking.

One was really moving around in there, that was kinda neat to see

I know this is old hat to some of you but I am new so indulge me?!?!?!

20% profit sounds pretty good in this economy. You have to stay competitive with the other vendors. Otherwise people will just go to your competitors. Makes sense to me. I'm sorry your boss is being a weinie.

The job is no big deal. It would be teaching technical theatre workshops and classes at high schools and churches. It would combine education with outside sales. There is a real need for the education part. The sales part would be necessary to pay my salary.
