My neighbor has them (within 50-75ft of my breeding pens, hope it helps me) they seem to stay at her place, but they have come over a time or two, her other dogs don't come over

. I don't try to make friends, they are just there to do a job. You could always pen or chain them near the chickens then they may not stray to far.

It was amusing to teach a 2 1/2 year old to say Great Pyrenees. He got it no problem and will tell you now what they are

BTW they work with chickens, not just sheets and goats

any livestock really as long as they are raised with the animals they will protect them.

We will have to get one or two when we move to the farm...

You know I can get you the goats.

OOPS!! Perhaps I was subconsciously thinking ahead of the wool production.

Emmalynn- I need a barn and fencing first. And to win the lottery or marry well so I can be a stay-at-home farmer.

We did talk about that "Home Depot Dating" thing. You could get one that is constructionally gifted. Can't help with the lottery...I keep playing and it ends up being someone's scholarship.

Wool production sounds too difficult, much less making it into sheets. I discovered spinning is not a talent I possess. It was UUUUGGGGLLYYYY. I knotted it up and made a cat toy, they wouldn't play with it.

Who knew a cat could be that discriminating.

Fencing looks good but I was told by an old farmer that if water can get through it so can a goat. I laughed and then rued the day. The only thing that keeps them anywhere is electric fence. Good thing, it isn't too expensive or difficult to set up. Bad thing, weedeating under the lines so it doesn't ground out. Not a big thing now, but in the spring...

Goat milk is about to be a reality again. Want to come down and practice your milking skills?

I'm taking some days off this month but how about lunch on the 20th?

Sorry I could not resist this warmer/dryer weather must have me loopy with joy!

I am still on the Day/NyQuil so you all over look me.

I gotta go pick birds to take to Sparta. Right now I am thinking a few blacks maybe a blue. My newly acquired whites are way too young so I have to wait till spring on them. Undecided on the Showgirls there is hardly ever adequate competition with them locally.

I hope everyone has a wonderful day it is gonna be a nice one. Tonight down to 28.

Watch out for constructionally gifted..especially if it's their profession. My list is so long and he's never home to get it done.
Country we have new lionheads and carriers.Got to watch the size on lionheads around here.People are breeding them way bigger than they are supposed to be using full size rabbits
We still have one pair or trio of blrw for sale,a few rir pullets and considering a silkie or two as well.

One other thing about the constructionally gifted, they won't build it the way you want it. If its not accepted construction appearance forget getting the coop that functions well for your purposes. Just ask me, I know.

Hmmm... Good points, ladies. I really just need someone to fund all my projects. I can build it my own darn self.

It would be nice to have someone else around the place to lift and tote though. Hmmm...

That is true. I didn't think of that when I suggested constructionally gifted. Of course, Tisha makes a good point. Well-off is always a good place to start.

I got too distracted by muscles and tool belts when I picked mine out.
